I volunteered to do costume design for The 39 Steps having no idea what the show was, but really just looking for exposure. I soon read that there are over 100 characters, with 46 unique costumes, played by four actors, as well as an onstage plane crash, a train chase scene, several gunshots, and a body double. It sounded like a fun time, until we realized the budget our school was giving us was 300$… For everything. Needless to say, we did it anyway and we invoked the most Frankenstein-like design ever thought of. Patrick Barlow would be proud.

I had a bad teacher for AP US History. I got questions on his tests correct on presidential assassins that no one else did because of “Assassins”. I got a perfect score on the Andrew Jackson test because of “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson”.
